He holds a BA in Economics (1980) and a MA in Economic Statistics and
Econometrics (1982) from the Athens University of Economics and Business and a PhD in Economics (1987) from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He has worked as Assistant Professor of Economics (1987-93) and Associate Professor of
Economics (1993-95) at the University of Connecticut. From 1993-99 he is at the
University of Cyprus as Associate Professor and from 1999-present is a
Professor. He served as a Chairman at the Department of Economics from 1997-2002
and from 2006-present, member of the University Senate from 1997-2002 and from
2007-present. He is a Co-Editor of the Ekonomia and Member of the Editorial
Council of the Review of Development Economics. He is a Research Associate of
the Center of Economic Studies & Ifo Institute for Economic Research
(CESifo), Germany. He is a member of the Council of Cyprus State Scholarship
Foundation.
